Urban Decay

It's 2013. The world didn't end like most people said it would. Human activity caused the sudden and complete destruction of all living creatures. All that remains are the crumbling ruins of human society, slowly being reclaimed by nature. The days still come, and seasons still fade into one another at this time of year. But without any humans to disturb these natural cycles, the world is much more peaceful. What you see now is postapocalyptica.

These pictures were taken in Akron, Minerva, and Waynesburg, Ohio. I tried to give as much information as I could about life on Earth after the impact of humans. Because of our carelessness, we could very easily bring every species on Earth to its knees. We impact every part of the planet we touch. To keep this from happening sooner than it will, we need to clean up after ourselves.

This project is composed of photographs that contain linear perspective and everyday objects seen from different perspectives. There are photos with traditional one-point perspective (drawing the eye straight back), and nontraditional one-point perspective (drawing the eye in other directions). Most of these pictures were taken in my house and in my neighborhood.
